Breast
cancer is a tumor that is originally found in the cells of the breast.
It is most common in women, but can also be found in men as well.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women, other
than skin cancer. Every year more than 200,000 women are diagnosed
with breast cancer in a country.
Women
who have been diagnosed with breast cancer have a number of treatment
options depending on the stage of cancer. A lumpectomy is the removal
of the tumor without removing the entire breast. This is the choice
of many women, who discover breast cancer in its early stages. Another
option is a mastectomy. This is the removal of the breast and is
a common treatment for elevated stages of the disease. Most treatment
options include follow-up treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation.
There are also several alternative medicine options for post surgery
treatment.

When a breast cancer treatment option is labeled "alternative" that simply means it has not undergone the level of scientific testing as procedures like chemotherapy and radiation. These breast cancer treatment options have not been proven in a medical environment because they are essentially too new to gather sufficient data on their success rates. Surgery is the most common type of breast cancer treatment. In fact, most women undergo some type of operation to remove the cancerous tumor from their breast. If you just remove the tumor and surrounding tissue it's called a lumpectomy. Some women opt for a mastectomy, which is the removal of the breast and possibly of lymph nodes. The type of surgery depends on whether the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, and the stage of your breast cancer. There have been many breast cancer advancements over the past few decades. Some of the most important breast cancer advancements have been in detection. Weekly self-examinations along with yearly mammograms can help to catch the disease during its early stages. Early detection is the best way of beating breast cancer. Other breast cancer advancements have been the dispelling of myths about breast cancer. For example, many women believe that if they do not have breast cancer in their family then they will not develop it. This is untrue; in fact 80 percent of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of it. If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer one of the most important decisions you can make is choosing a treatment plan that's right for you. The most common treatments for all types of cancer are surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. When it comes to breast cancer women have several choices, including breast cancer alternative treatments. You can find information about breast cancer alternative treatments online. One of the great things about the Internet is the way people from all over the world can share their experiences with breast cancer and recovery. This is a great way to explore the many options for treatment without having to leave your home. Breast cancer treatment is one of the most important decisions a woman can make. You will want to take your time and consider the side effects and possible long-term repercussions of your treatments. It's a good idea to discuss your options with your doctor as well as family members and cancer survivors. All women over 40 should do this every year. This procedure identifies abnormalities and often leads to a biopsy to check for the presence of cancer cells. It is recommended that women with a high risk for breast cancer start getting mammograms and regular tests at a younger age. One of the most popular new breast cancer alternative treatments is called controlled amino acid therapy, or CATT. This is a breast cancer treatment plan that focuses on diet and control or manipulation of the growth of cancer cells in the body. It was developed by scientists and researchers at the A.P. John Institute for Cancer Research, who performed extensive studies on the effects of manipulating cancer cells through a person's natural internal reactions to different foods and nutrients. On the website you can read testimonials from women who have reduced the growth and recurrence of cancer cells with this process. This process normally compliments other cancer treatments such as surgery or chemotherapy.
